I grew up in Devon, living by the coast near Barnstaple. I studied at Falmouth College of Arts in Cornwall gaining a BA Hons in Illustration. I
moved to Dorset five years ago and now take private commissions for a range of subjects including animal portraits
and continue to teach pastel painting and life drawing.
I work mainly in pastel but I have developed a range of styles to suit the variety required for commercial Illustration. I've been taking pastel pet portrait commissions for over 10 years and I am more than happy to take on a variety of subjects.

Taking orders for Christmas, its that time already! Left it a little late ..... How about a Gift Voucher? I like to meet the subject if possible if not then I'll do the very best I can from the photos that you have and any further information that you can supply. I make a small charge for developing the photos from which I'll base my final portrait on. It normally takes between 4 and 8 weeks for a commission. I can work to a deadline if you give me reasonable warning. I usually take a £25 - 00 deposit.The cost of a portrait or painting depends on the size and the type of subject that you want drawn.
These prices give you a rough idea of portrait prices but if you have a budget to work to give me an opportunity to suggest some possible ideas.Paintings are quoted individually depending on detail and size.
Framing can make a picture or ruin it! I’m constantly trying to improve the quality of the portraits I produce. Working with a local framer we agreed on a series of frames that set off my work beautifully. Each frame is made individually and can be quoted for with your portrait. The woods used included pine and ash as well as a National Trust traditional moulding. My portraits are quoted with my standard framing (plain moulding), if you are interested in the frames below please enquire for individual prices.

Commission from Ellingham Show 2006
This is 'Princess' from Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary . She won the Champion - Best in Show at Ringwood and Ellingham Show, part of her prize was a portrait.
The portrait was well received and is a great likeness!
There are A6 gift cards on request of this image. The cards are £1.50, blank with an envelope. For every card sold a donation of 20% will be made to Island Farm.

These ducks were seen at Pampered Pig's Farm Shop whilst picking up some tasty sausages! Have a look at the website for more information.

Stewarts Garden Centre auctioned one of my pictures to raise money for the Youth Cancer Trust.
The winner won this lovely poppy painting!

These shows were a great success and I have a range of commissions including the winner of the 'Best in Show' Donkey competition. A personalised portrait voucher was given as part of the prize. There will be an update to show the finished portrait in a few weeks.
